Lv, Luv, Love
LOVE is a BIG word which is sometimes misunderstood and interpreted erroneously as a physical action or abused through the shallow repetition of the phrase "I love you" without the person(s) involved fully understanding the concept.
It is quite humorous to discover that over the years different versions of spelling the largely popular word "LOVE" have emerged and become eminent in our present social circles.
Variations of the word LOVE:
1. "Lv" is the least affectionate version of the word "LOVE". It is mostly used by strangers or acquaintances who have the annoying trait of using UNWANTED friendly terms when conversing with a person of the opposite sex. "Lv" is also used within the conversation of recently united couples as they feel that it is too soon to spell out the entire word, as too much emotion is conveyed through that and they are not ready for that level as yet.
2. "Luv" plunges into second place as a third letter is added to the word. The magic third letter is "U" which usually brings about a quirky sense of actual care and sentiment for the person (U) which the word "luv" is loosely hurled at. The usual run down phrase is "I luv u" and is used when the individual(s) concerned have progressed through the "lv" phase and are not exactly ready to say "I LOVE you" as yet.
3. "LOVE" rises above the rest as it comes in at first place. This version is more heart felt than the previous two and resembles a stronger sense of affection, care and interest towards the person(s) involved. "LOVE" is predominantly the word used to express emotions within mature relationships, however it is also misused through lack of understanding and sometimes even used in order to attain personal selfish goals from a partner.
In most relationships, couples will go through their three phases of LOVE, and use the three variations of the word LOVE respectively. The truth however is, that the word LOVE is backed by an enormous amount of emotion, values, traits and even more definitions which form a net of complex meaning. What am I trying to say?? The point I'm trying to make is that the WORD love is GIGANTOUS (yes I am aware that isn't a word). Trying to capture so much of meaning into one little four letter word is hard to comprehend. It's like attempting to capture all the creatures of the sea with one little net from one little trawler.
What does the bible say about love?
The bible describes love as the following:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
Of course, it is much more easily said than done. This is why LOVE is a walk and not an emotion. It is a journey.
It is a concious decision made each and every day to be patient, even though the person you LOVE is driving you utterly insane. It's praying for that person to change their bad habits, and for God to change you as well, to be able to deal with situations coming your way.
It is a concious decision to be kind and caring toward the person you LOVE, speaking in LOVE even when they are not so kind in return and are calling you all types of names (Yes, even those).
It is a concious decision not to allow envy into your heart, but to guard your heart from this and keep it pure.
It is a concious decision not to boast about yourself and what you have, but to appreciate the other person and what you've found in them. LOVE is not about you, it is about others and it is definitely not flamboyant.
It is a concious decision to not have pride but to admit when you've made a mistake and to ask for forgiveness from the other person.
It is a concious decision not to be rude and not to use harmful or hurtful words towards others, but to use words that encourage and build and grow others.
It is a concious decision to not be self-seeking. LOVE is not about what we can get out of that relationship but it is about how much we give to that relationship and invest in that relationship. Many times people use relationships as a crutch. They use it to build their egos, self esteem, self worth and other self driven motives. LOVE is about how we can build other people and support them and impart into their lives.
It is a concious decision to not allow yourself to become easily angered but to keep your cool even when things are going crazy. Yes, we are all human, and as humans we get upset but we should never let our anger cloud our judgement or let it control us. When emotions of that nature have the ability to consume and control you, that is when danger can become apparent. LOVE should always hush the fire, and overshadow anger.
It is a concious decision to forgive and keep no record of wrongs. This means wholly forgiving and not bringing up past mistakes, shortfalls or constantly reminding someone where they went wrong. Bringing up past mistakes does nothing to uplift and encourage someone, instead it lowers their perception of self worth and could more than likely result in the person repeating falters.
If you are easily angered, keep records of wrong, if you are not patient or kind and are envious, boastful, proud or rude you cannot say that you truly LOVE. You need to backtrack, acknowledge where you went wrong, and attempt correct it, and ask God to transform your heart, and mold you into the person you need to be.
God's LOVE for us is perfect. Let's try to LOVE like that.

The Ultimate Shopping Experience!
The Ultimate Shopping Experience is a short movie that I put together. The location is the Workshop Flea Market. The essence of the movie is the variety and amount of items that can be purchased at the flea market at affordable prices. It also continues to show the other side of the lives of the people who work there. Enjoy!

Dignity Personified

To me the superficial definition of dignity walks around in a Versace, Gucci or Oscar De La Renta suit. It drinks the finest vintage wine from the finest crystal glasses. It gives to charity its usual percentage, just for the just of it. It walks with its nose in the sky, occasionally dropping its gaze to put a few cents into the poor wrinkled hands of the beggar. It is proud. It constantly wants the respect of others. It gives of what it got.
To me the genuine definition of dignity walks around in modesty. It drinks of the cup of love, caring for others. It carries the burdens of itself and others without a complaint. It walks with its ears and eyes to the ground constantly listening, and looking for people in need. It takes pride in whatever it does and yet is not proud. It might not always have the respect of others yet it has respect for itself. It gives of everything it has.
Many people see dignity as a suit and a tie, not a heart and a soul.
A person without dignity is one which takes more than it gives back.
As you can see, to me dignity does not have one rigid definition. It’s too complicated for that. It’s a web of definitions intertwined. It’s a characteristic. It’s a walk of life.
